Expires:No;;141029 FXUS65 KPUB 040509 AFDPUB Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Pueblo CO 1009 PM MST Tue Dec 3 2024 .KEY MESSAGES... - Near to slightly above normal temperatures and dry, quiet weather are likely to persist through Saturday. - A pattern change looks to arrive late this weekend into early next week. && .SHORT TERM /THROUGH WEDNESDAY/... Issued at 213 PM MST Tue Dec 3 2024 Ongoing weak upper ridging will end early this evening, as deep upper trough across the northern CONUS digs and while an upper level low meanders just to the southwest. With the region staying under weaker/baggier flow and with dry conditions persisting, precip development is not likely through the period. This will support some cooling for Wednesday, though above normal temperatures, of around 5- 10 degrees, will still be observed over much of southern Colorado. && .LONG TERM /WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY/... Issued at 213 PM MST Tue Dec 3 2024 Pattern will remain highly amplified across the CONUS at the start of the period, with a deep upper trough to the northeast, the meandering upper low to the southwest, and with some upper ridging likely over the far western CONUS. However, the region will remain in the similar dry and baggy/weak flow with little support or moisture for precip development for the week into the weekend. Air masses look to fluctuate under this pattern but despite this, anticipate generally above normal temperatures to persist through the weekend. Period of interest will be early next week when a deep upper trough looks to push through. A little too far out at this time for the details, but the potential for mountain snows return along with a low chance for lower terrain snow. This will continue to be a period and system to continue closely monitoring through the week. && .AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z THURSDAY/...
