The Doppler radar and satellite imagery indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds up to 30 knots and frequent lightning. These thunderstorms are associated with a passing tropical wave moving westward across the region and a frontal boundry sinking southwards across the region. Additional thunderstorms will develop across local offshore and coastal waters creating hazardous marine conditions throughout the rest of the early morning hours. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately. Intense lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects. $$
