...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM APPROACHING THE WATERS...

  Coastal waters east of Ipswich Bay and the Stellwagen Bank 
  National Marine Sanctuary...
  Massachusetts Bay and Ipswich Bay...

At 616 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. This
thunderstorm was located over Nahant, or over Broad Sound, moving
northeast at 20 knots.

Locations impacted include...
Eastern Point Ma, Boston Harbor, Beverly Harbor, Boston Light, Mass
Bay Buoy 44029, Thatcher Island, Marblehead Neck, and Broad Sound.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Expect gusty winds to around 30 knots...briefly rough seas and
lightning strikes. Consider heading for safe harbor until this storm
passes.

Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible and keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
