...Showers and thunderstorms over the lower bay and ocean may 
cause waterspouts this afternoon...

Showers and a few thunderstorms have developed near the lower bay
and ocean this afternoon. The atmosphere is somewhat conducive to
waterspouts and mariners should be on the lookout for any 
waterspouts this afternoon from Virginia Beach to the Outer Banks 
of Currituck County. 

Thunderstorms can produce waterspouts with little or no advance 
warning. Seek safe harbor if a waterspout is spotted and report it
immediately to the National Weather Service.
