Rainfall and some snowmelt will result in elevated water levels in Upper Gila River and the Santa Cruz River Basins tonight and Wednesday. Locations of concern include the Blue River north of Clifton and the Gila River at Solomon near Safford. The Blue River was at a stage of 12.2 feet at 6 PM MST this evening and will peak near 14.0 feet tonight before water levels recede during the day tomorrow. The observed and forecast water levels in the Blue River typically impact a few primitive campgrounds and ranch access in the area. The Gila River near Solomon will peak around bankfull by noon on Wednesday which results in water levels approaching a few agricultural fields nearby. Rises in the Rillito and Santa Cruz rivers can also be anticipated on Wednesday but not significant enough to be of a concern.
