...River Statement For The Cahaba River...


Heavy rainfall over the next several days will produce rises on the 
Cahaba River. However...levels are expected to remain below established
flood stages...and any overflow along the river should be of a minor nature.

The Cahaba River At Marion Junction. 
 Latest stage:     7.4 feet at 8 AM Tuesday. 
 Caution stage:    15.0 feet. 
 Flood stage:      36.0 feet. 
 Forecast:         Crest near 20.6 feet Thursday evening 
                   and then begin to fall. 
 

Please stay tuned to NOAA Weather radio or your local media for later
statements concerning this event.

It is emphasized that these forecasts are based on forecast rainfall over
the next 48 hours.  If more rainfall than is currently forecast occurs it may 
become necessary to revise these forecasts upward. 

Another statement will be issued Wednesday morning...or sooner if 
conditions warrant.
