...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...

In 1988, an Arctic air mass invaded the Northern Plains
and Upper Great Lakes.	International Falls, MN plunged
into a thermal abyss with low of 25 below zero, which was
the coldest location in the nation.  Sault Saint Marie,
MI plunged to 14 below.  Parts of Eastern Upper Michigan
remained below zero throughout the day.
