FNUS64 KTSA 290759 RFDTSA ARZ001-002-010-011-OKZ054>067-292000- Fire Danger Statement National Weather Service Tulsa OK 259 AM CDT Tue Oct 29 2024 ...ELEVATED TO NEAR-CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON FOR NORTHEAST EASTERN OKLAHOMA AND NORTHWEST ARKANSAS... Grassland fire spread potential will increase this afternoon as southerly winds increase and gust from 35 to 45 mph across northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. Additionally, minimum relative humidity values are expected to fall as low as 40%. The worst conditions are expected along and north of Interstate 44 in northeast Oklahoma where winds will be the strongest. Fine fuels and brush are drought-stressed and increasingly receptive to ignition. Avoid outdoor activities that could inadvertently start a fire, including disposing of cigarettes properly. Report any wildfires to local officials. Additionally, burn bans are in effect for many counties across eastern Oklahoma, along with all of western Arkansas. Remember to check with local authorities regarding burn bans for your specific location. $$
