The patchy drizzle this morning will give way to gradually clearing skies this afternoon. Though, there is a chance (20-30%) for scattered showers to develop this afternoon, especially near the IL-WI line, as an upper-low passes to our north. Winds will also become breezy this afternoon with westerly gusts of 25-30 mph expected. High pressure is expected to be building into northern IL on Monday resulting in gradually clearing skies and seasonably mild temperatures. However, a dry cold front is forecast to move through the area during the late morning and early afternoon hours shifting winds out of the northwest in its wake. Wind speeds will also increase behind the front with gusts of 20-25 mph expected Monday afternoon. Otherwise, expect afternoon RH values around 50-55 percent and mixing heights to peak in the 2500-3000 ft range Monday afternoon. Dry conditions are expected to prevail through the day on Tuesday as well before our next chance for rain arrives late Wednesday into Thursday with another cold front. .VETERANS DAY...
