High temperatures each afternoon Wednesday through Saturday will be well above normal for this time of year. A cooling trend is expected Sunday and Monday. Dry weather will persist through at least Saturday afternoon. A trough of low pressure will move eastward across Northern Nevada Saturday evening and Saturday night, resulting in a slight chance of precipitation. && .SHORT TERM...Tonight through Wednesday night A Rex block will remain in place tonight through Wednesday night, with high pressure over Northern Nevada and low pressure in the Desert Southwest. Low temperatures both tonight and Wednesday night will be two to four degrees above seasonal values. High temperatures Wednesday afternoon will be around ten degrees above normal for this time of year. Saturday, forecast models are showing greater confidence of an upper level trough strengthening over the northwestern U.S.; however, it will remain north of Nevada. The trough is expected to bring in cooler northerly winds that will help drop our temperatures back to normal in the 30s to 40s Sunday and early next week. Although the trough remains outside the state, a portion of the system can still impact the forecast area, mainly Elko County with precipitation chances up to 30% Sunday and Monday.
