Visibility may drop below 1 mile, especially across the interior portions of the Coastal Plains. Tidal levels continue to run around 0.5 feet above normal as seas recede. Swell periods are around 7-8 seconds with swell heights of 2-3 feet. Some minor coastal flooding is still possible but water is not expected to reach the dunes through Friday. The moderate rip current risk will become low tonight and Thursday. Partly cloudy skies with slightly above-normal temperatures are expected. Daytime highs will range from the low 80s along the coast to low 90s inland. Low temperatures will range from the low 60s inland to the mid-70s along the coast. The area will remain under the influence of high pressure which will keep near zero rain chances across South Texas and a low (10-20%) chance over the Gulf waters. Long term: A low chance of rain will continue over the Gulf waters Friday behind a weak mid-level trough. A few showers may be able to make it over the immediate coast but with dry air in place, confidence in this is low. Moisture will make a gradual return as a broad ridge moves over South Texas. This will bring PWATs to normal or slightly above normal early next week. There are no real rain chances expected even with the moisture in place. The only hope lies in the potential for a mid-level shortwave that could make its way around the southern base of a trough extending from the Four Corners into Mexico. Marine (also works for the CWF): Weak east to southeasterly flow will become weak to moderate by Thursday night. Winds will then become southeast and increase to 15-20 knots Monday and Tuesday. There is a low (10-20%) chance of showers offshore Thursday night before chances become less than 10%. Low (15-30%) rain chances return Wednesday. FWF (fire weather): Despite dry conditions, winds will remain low enough to mitigate fire weather concerns through the end of the week. Moisture will return early next week. No elevated fire weather conditions are expected at the this time. Thanks, yall! $$
