...The National Weather Service in Reno NV has issued a Flood 
Warning for the following rivers in California...

  West Walker River Near Little Walker and Coleville affecting Mono 
  County.

.Recent warm temperatures and strong mountain winds have accelerated 
snowmelt, resulting in a rise in the streams feeding the West Walker 
River. Another day of gusty winds will maintain an accelerated 
snowmelt despite cooling temperatures. As winds decrease Tuesday and 
Wednesday, snowmelt should slow and allow river levels to fall.

For the West Walker Above Topaz Lake...including Little Walker and 
Coleville...Moderate flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

...REPLACES RIVER FLOOD ADVISORY...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is 
  forecast.

* WHERE...West Walker River Near Little Walker and Coleville.

* WHEN...From this morning to late Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 6.0 feet, Flood stage. Minor flooding of lowlands 
  pasture & rural roads in West Walker River Canyon and Antelope 
  Valley including Walker, Coleville and Topaz California.
  At 6.5 feet, Moderate flooding of lowlands, pastures and some 
  rural roads from the West Walker River Canyon to Topaz Lake 
  .including Walker Coleville and Topaz California.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 7:30 AM PDT Monday the stage was 6.4 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 7:30 AM PDT Monday was 6.6 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will oscillate between minor and
    moderate flooding through Tuesday night with a maximum value
    of 6.6 feet tonight. The river is forecast to gradually fall
    below flood stage Thursday morning.
  - Flood stage is 6.0 feet.
