The National Weather Service in El Paso has issued a Fire Warning at 
the request of Mescalero Apache Tribe Emergency Manager for far 
northern Otero County, including US 70 between Apache Summit 
and Ruidoso Downs.

* AT 900 AM MDT, a dangerous wildfire was located in the vicinity of 
  Bear Spring Road, a few miles east of Highway 70. Estimated size 
  is 4876 acres.

* Evacuation Area... Snow Springs, Chatto Bluff, Fence Canyon, 
  Whitetail, Chihuahua Well, Fantasy Lane, Summit Area, and Botella 
  Road, Apache Summit

* Additional Information...Do not drive into areas of smoke. The 
  Tribe's evacuation center for Reservation residents is at the 
  Community Center Gymnasium, 108 Central Ave, Mescalero, NM 88340.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Evacuate quickly and follow all safety instructions from local
emergency management officials. Do not drive into smoke.
