...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 530 PM MDT THIS 
AFTERNOON FOR EAST CENTRAL SAN MIGUEL COUNTY...

At 444 PM MDT, Local law enforcement reported thunderstorms 
producing heavy rain across the warned area has resulted in mud and 
debris on portions of Highway 145 between Sawpit and Telluride. 
Between 0.5 and 0.8 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is 
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Sawpit.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Highway 145 is prone to rockslides and mudslides in heavy rain. Stay 
alert for rocks and debris on roads, and avoid driving on flooded 
roads. Find an alternate route.
