...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM EDT EARLY THIS 
MORNING FOR SOUTHWESTERN CUMBERLAND AND PRINCE EDWARD COUNTIES...

At 102 AM EDT, local law enforcement continues to report flooding 
across western portions of Prince Edward County with multiple roads 
and bridges impassible due to high water. Between 3 and 5 inches of 
rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are 
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Farmville, Hampden Sydney, Hampden Sydney College, Longwood 
  University, Prospect, Darlington Heights, Green Bay, Worsham, 
  Kingsville, Briery Creek Lake, Tuggle, Allens Mill, Reeds, Briery, 
  Virso, Simplicity, Elam, Prince Edward Station, Scholfield and 
  Prince Edward Lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding. Do not stay in areas subject to flooding when 
water begins rising.
