The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northwestern Gunnison County in west central Colorado...
  West Central Pitkin County in west central Colorado...

* Until 730 PM MDT.

* At 629 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.3 and 0.6 inches of 
  rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 1.5 inches in 
  1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, highways,
           streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage
           and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Redstone.

This includes Colorado 133 between mile markers 48 and 57.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Hayes Creek, Perham Creek, South Thompson Creek, East Creek, 
  Bulldog Creek, Avalanche Creek, Spring Creek, Coal Creek, Big 
  Kline Creek and Braderich Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Highway 133 near Redstone is prone to rockslides and mudslides in 
heavy rain. Stay alert for rocks and debris on roads, and avoid 
driving on flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
