The National Weather Service in Albany has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southeastern Litchfield County in northern Connecticut...

* Until 800 AM EDT Monday.

* At 1046 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms 
  producing heavy rain in Woodbury. Between 5 and 8 inches of rain 
  have fallen with numerous roads already closed. Additional 
  rainfall amounts expected overnight tonight up to 1 inch possible 
  in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Torrington, Thomaston, Litchfield, Woodbury Center, Oakville, 
  Northwest Harwinton, Terryville, Watertown, Plymouth, Woodbury, 
  Harwinton, Bethlehem, Washington, Morris, Roxbury, Bridgewater, 
  Bantam, Bethlehem Village, Gulls Hollow and East Morris.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are 
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded 
roads. Find an alternate route.
