  A Levee Failure on the Little Sioux River in...
  Northern Monona County in west central Iowa...

* Until 800 AM CDT.

* At 456 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported a levee on the 
  Little Sioux River failed 600 yards south of Highway 141 causing 
  flash flooding of immediately surrounding areas.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding from a levee failure.

  SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of areas near the
           levee break.

* Smithland, Rodney, and rural area nearby

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you are in low lying areas along the Little Sioux River near 
Smithland or Rodney you should move to higher ground immediately.
