The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  South Central St. Landry Parish in central Louisiana...
  Central Lafayette Parish in south central Louisiana...
  Eastern Acadia Parish in southwestern Louisiana...

* Until 1145 AM CST.

* At 833 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain 
  have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are 
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected 
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Crowley, Scott, Rayne, Carencro, Church Point, Leonville, Sunset, 
  Duson, Maurice, Grand Coteau, Cankton, Mire, Branch and Ridge.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Long Point Gully, Coulee Lantier, Coulee de Marks, Coulee Croche, 
  Ile des Cannes, Coulee, Prime Gully, Lyons Point Gully, Cole 
  Gully, Coulee Mine, Queue De Tortue, Bayou, Blanc, Bayou, 
  Vermilion River, Bourbeux, Bayou, Wikoff, Bayou, Grand Marais, 
  Bayou, Gumpoint Gully, Sandy, Bayou, Lazy Point Canal, Plaquemine 
  Brule, Bayou, Teche, Bayou, Francois Coulee and Indian Bayou.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
