The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Pulaski County in central Missouri...
  Phelps County in east central Missouri...
  Western Dent County in south central Missouri...
  Texas County in south central Missouri...

* Until 530 AM CST Tuesday.

* At 937 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain 
  have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin 
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Rolla, Fort Leonard Wood, Salem, Waynesville, Mountain Grove, 
  Houston, St. Robert, St. James, Licking, Cabool, Doolittle, 
  Summersville, Newburg, Raymondville, Edgar Springs, Huggins, 
  Plato, Beulah, Hazelton, Prescott, Lenox, Anutt, Success, Montauk, 
  Roby, Lecoma, Bucyrus, Lake Spring, Darien, Yukon, Devil's Elbow, 
  Solo, Eunice, Jerome, Simmons, Hartshorn, Howes, Elk Creek, 
  Bendavis and Northwye.

This includes the following low water crossings...
  Dry Fork Creek at County Road 2430, Big Piney River at Cleveland 
  Road, Smoky Hollow at Highway J, Little Piney River at Union Road, 
  South Fork Jacks Fork River at Stillhouse Road, Boone Creek at 
  Boone Creek Road and Norman Creek at County Road 4220.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.
