The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southern Harrison County in southern Mississippi...
  Southwestern Jackson County in southern Mississippi...

* Until 145 AM CDT.

* At 1042 PM CDT, the public reported thunderstorms producing heavy 
  rain in Gulfport. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. 
  Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the 
  warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Public reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Gulfport, Biloxi, Long Beach, St. Martin, D'iberville, Latimer and 
  Gulfport Airport.

This includes the following Interstates...
	Interstate 10 in Mississippi between mile markers 30 and 48.
	Interstate 110 in Mississippi near mile marker 1...and
	between mile markers 3 and 4.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
