* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Carteret County in eastern North Carolina...

* Until 930 AM EDT.

* At 626 AM EDT, the public reported thunderstorms producing heavy 
  rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have 
  fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 2 inches are 
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Public reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Morehead City, Cedar Island, Harkers Island, South River, North 
  River, Sealevel, Davis, Atlantic, Smyrna, Merrimon, Marshallberg, 
  Straits, Williston, Otway, Open Grounds Farm, Stacy, Bettie, Cedar 
  Island Ferry Terminal, Michael J Smith Airport and Rachel Carson 
  Estuarine Reserve.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.
