The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Cumberland County in central North Carolina...
  Harnett County in central North Carolina...

* Until 130 PM EDT.

* At 1031 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain 
  have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 inch in 1 hour. Flash 
  flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Fayetteville, Lillington, Fort Liberty, Dunn, Angier, Benson, 
  Godwin, Pope AFB, Hope Mills, Spring Lake, Erwin, Eastover, Coats, 
  Stedman, Wade, Falcon, Linden, Anderson Creek, Timberlake and 
  Bonnie Doone.

This includes the following flood prone locations...
Spruce St at Little Cross Creek, Blounts Creek near Robeson St, 
Cross Creek at Ray Ave, Little Rockfish Creek in Hope Mills, Big 
Sandy Run at US-301 south of Fayetteville and Hope Mills Rd and 
Camden Rd.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.
