* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Anson County in central North Carolina...
  Montgomery County in central North Carolina...
  Moore County in central North Carolina...
  Richmond County in central North Carolina...
  Stanly County in central North Carolina...

* Until 200 PM EDT Thursday.

* At 643 AM EDT, Law enforcement and emergency management reported 
  flash flooding across the warned area with several roads closed 
  and rising creeks and streams. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain has 
  already fallen in many areas with a few locations receiving more 
  than 5 inches of rain. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 
  inches are possible in the warned area through this afternoon 
  which will result in additional flooding.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing
           flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Albemarle, Southern Pines, Rockingham, Wadesboro, Troy, Carthage, 
  Badin Lake, Pinehurst, Hamlet, Aberdeen, Ansonville, Hoffman, 
  Polkton, Locust, Norwood, Badin and Oakboro.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
Bear Creek, Moccasin Creek, Cattail Creek, Cedar Creek, Rocky Creek, 
Brown Creek, Crane Creek, Suggs Creek, Hale Creek and Wolf Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.
