The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northwestern McKinley County in west central New Mexico...

* Until 545 AM MDT.

* At 1148 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of 
  rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches 
  are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or 
  expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Northern Gallup, Nakaibito, Tohatchi, Yah-Ta-Hey, Rock Springs, 
  Brimhall Nizhoni, Tse Bonito, Navajo, Church Rock and Crystal.

This includes Interstate 40 near Mile Marker 10...and
	between Mile Markers 22 and 23...and
	near Mile Marker 25.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.
