The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northwestern Chesterfield County in central South Carolina...
  Lancaster County in central South Carolina...

* Until 215 PM EDT.

* At 1213 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported heavy rain across 
  the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. 
  Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the 
  warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin 
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

  SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Lancaster, Springdale, Indian Land, Pageland, Kershaw, Elgin, 
  Heath Springs, Buford, USC Lancaster, Irwin, Andrew Jackson State 
  Park, Van Wyck, Mount Croghan, Antioch, Bear Creek Park, Kirk Air 
  Base, Camp Creek Fire Station, Unity Fire Station, Tradesville and 
  Pleasant Hill.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles. Never drive through a 
flooded roadway or around barricades. Turn around, don't drown.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
