The National Weather Service in Aberdeen has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Buffalo County in central South Dakota...
  Southern Hand County in central South Dakota...

* Until 230 AM CDT.

* At 833 PM CDT, emergency management reported thunderstorms 
  producing heavy rain across the warned area causing water to flow 
  over roadways in both counties. Flash flooding is ongoing or 
  expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Fort Thompson, Miller Dale Colony, Shelby, Gann Valley, Pleasant 
  Valley Country Church, Sunshine Bible Academy, Etbauer Hill, 
  Danforth, Lees Corner, Crow Creek Housing, Rosehill Dam, Vayland, 
  Tailrace Rec Area, Lake Francis Case, Lake Sharpe, Crow Creek 
  Reservation and eastern Lower Brule Reservation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.
