The National Weather Service in League City has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northeastern Brazoria County in southeastern Texas...
  Northwestern Galveston County in southeastern Texas...
  Harris County in southeastern Texas...

* Until 1145 AM CDT.

* At 928 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 
  3 and 7 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is already 
  occurring.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Southeastern Pasadena, League City, Texas City, southeastern 
  Friendswood, La Porte, Alvin, Dickinson, La Marque, Santa Fe, 
  Seabrook, Webster, Hitchcock, Kemah, southeastern Clear Lake, 
  Nassau Bay, Taylor Lake Village, El Lago, Shoreacres, Clear Lake 
  Shores and Hillcrest.

Numerous reports of flooded roadways were reported earlier this 
morning in Dickinson and Texas City especially along surface streets 
and feeder roads. Some lingering water along roadways continues as 
light rain persists this morning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
