The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Palo Pinto County in north central Texas...
  Southeastern Stephens County in north central Texas...

* Until 500 AM CST.

* At 1236 AM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 
  1 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 
  1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 
  inches are forecast. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to 
  begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other
           poor drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Mineral Wells, Graford, Gordon, Palo Pinto, Lake Palo Pinto, 
  Possum Kingdom Lake, Possum Kingdom State Park, Palo Pinto 
  Mountains State Park, Caddo, Strawn, Mingus, New Salem, 
  Salesville, Lone Camp, Santo, Brazos, Oran and Peadenville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.
