.Heavy rain with a few embedded thunderstorms have worked across 
parts of the area this evening and additional rain is likely 
overnight. Some reports on area rain gauges have reported over an 
inch to around an inch and a half. Some localized street and urban 
flooding had been reported.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1015 PM EST /915 PM CST/ THIS 
EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of south central Indiana, including the following 
  counties, Floyd and Harrison and central Kentucky, including the 
  following counties, Breckinridge, Jefferson and Meade.

* WHEN...Until 1015 PM EST /915 PM CST/.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 
  Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or 
  other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 715 PM EST /615 PM CST/, Doppler radar indicated heavy
    rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or
    expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and
    1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Louisville, New Albany, Shively, Brandenburg, Hardinsburg,
    Audubon Park, Watterson Park, Lynnview, Parkway Village and
    Valley Station.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.
