...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 115 PM CST THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, south central, and southwest 
  Louisiana, including the following parishes, in central Louisiana, 
  St. Landry. In south central Louisiana, Lafayette and St. Martin. 
  In southwest Louisiana, Acadia.

* WHEN...Until 115 PM CST.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying 
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads 
  remain closed due to flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1106 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Opelousas, Scott, Carencro, Leonville, Arnaudville, Sunset,
    Port Barre, Duson, Grand Coteau, Cankton and Mire.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National 
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
