...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 345 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of central Virginia, including the following 
  county, Campbell.

* WHEN...Until 345 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying 
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. It will take 
  several hours for all the water from these storms to work through 
  local drainage systems in urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 110 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated Flooding is already occurring in the warned area.
    Falling River at Naruna was above flood stage and falling.
    Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in
    the warned area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Brookneal, Rustburg, Spring Mills, Mike, Gladys and Hat
    Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become 
unstable and unsafe.

When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding, 
including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather 
Service by calling toll free at 1...8 6 6...2 1 5...4 3 2 4. Reports 
and pictures can also be shared on the National Weather Service
