...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM EDT THURSDAY...
...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Virginia, including the following 
  counties, Isle of Wight, Southampton and Surry.

* WHEN...Until 300 AM EDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying 
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 851 PM EDT, Department of Highways reported flooding in
    the warned area from thunderstorms. Flooding is already
    occurring. Between 3.5 and 4.5 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
    expected.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Dendron, Ellis Fork, Runnymede, Booth Fork and Pons.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding. Do not stay in areas subject to flooding when 
water begins rising.
