FOR SOUTHEASTERN JO DAVIESS...NORTHERN CARROLL AND STEPHENSON
COUNTIES...

At 733 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Seward, or 8
miles northwest of Byron, moving east at 50 mph.

THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR Freeport

HAZARD...90 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...You are in a life-threatening situation. Flying debris may 
         be deadly to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes 
         will be heavily damaged or destroyed. Homes and businesses 
         will have substantial roof and window damage. Expect 
         extensive tree damage and power outages.

Locations impacted include...
Freeport, Mount Carroll, Lena, Stockton, Lanark, Pearl City, Shannon,
Cedarville, Davis, Dakota, German Valley, Winslow, Rock City, Ridott,
Massbach, Buena Vista, Loran, Rock Grove, Oneco, and Orangeville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 100 AM CDT for northwestern
Illinois.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
