The National Weather Service in Newport has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Pamlico Sound...

* Until 200 AM EST.

* At 1225 AM EST, a cold front was located along a line extending 
  from near Alligator River Bridge to 7 nm east of Crabtree Bay to 6 
  nm west of Mid Point Of South Creek, moving southeast at 30 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts to 45 knots.

  SOURCE...Land based observations. This cold front has a history of 
           producing wind gusts to nearly 40 knots as it has moved 
           through inland areas of eastern North Carolina.

  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and 
           suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  Engelhard, Drum Inlet, Hatteras Inlet, Ocracoke Inlet, The Center
  Of Croatan Sound, The Mouth Of The Pamlico River, Hobucken, Pamlico
  Sound, Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, The Vicinity Of Cedar
  Island, Hatteras Village, Swanquarter, Ocracoke, The Vicinity Of
  Davis, The Center Of The Pamlico Sound, and Cedar Island.
