...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT CENTRAL SHELBY AND SOUTHEASTERN
JEFFERSON COUNTIES THROUGH 215 PM CDT...

At 140 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Oak Mountain State Park, or near Chelsea. This thunderstorm was
nearly stationary.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is 
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Alabaster, Pelham, Helena, Chelsea, Indian
Springs Village, Oak Mountain State Park, Oak Mountain Amphitheater,
Greystone, Inverness, Highland Lakes, Riverchase, Patton Creek,
Fowler Lake, Hoover Metropolitan Stadium, The Summit, Lake Purdy,
Riverchase Galleria, and Brook Highland.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
