...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT EASTERN STORY...MARSHALL...WEST
CENTRAL TAMA AND NORTH CENTRAL JASPER COUNTIES THROUGH 300 PM CDT...

At 226 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 6
miles north of Baxter, or 13 miles southwest of Marshalltown, moving
northeast at 55 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is 
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Marshalltown, State Center, Baxter, Gladbrook, Melbourne, Albion,
Rhodes, Liscomb, Haverhill, Green Mountain, Marshalltown Municipal
Airport, and Union Grove State Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 700 PM CDT for
central Iowa.
