At 1243 PM CST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Avondale, moving north at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
New Orleans, Metairie, Marrero, Avondale, Harvey, Jefferson, Gretna,
Harahan, Westwego, Jean Lafitte, Elmwood, Bridge City, River Ridge,
Ama, Estelle, Waggaman, St. Rose, Woodmere, Barataria, and Lafitte.

This includes the following Interstates...
 Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 220 and 239.
 Interstate 310 between mile markers 1 and 2.
 Interstate 610 between mile markers 1 and 4.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 

If on or near marine areas, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from
the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be
caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
