...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT WESTERN DALLAS...POLK...
NORTHEASTERN LAWRENCE...GREENE AND SOUTHEASTERN DADE COUNTIES THROUGH
245 PM CST...

At 155 PM CST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Ash Grove, or 11 miles northwest of Republic, moving northeast at 70
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is 
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Springfield, Republic, Bolivar, Pomme de Terre Lake, Stockton Lake,
Willard, Buffalo, Strafford, Ash Grove, Fair Grove, Walnut Grove,
Polk, Pleasant Hope, Fair Play, Morrisville, Everton, Brookline,
Dadeville, Halfway, and Halltown.

This includes Interstate 44 between mile markers 55 and 68, and
between mile markers 70 and 90.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CST for southwestern
Missouri.
