An earthquake occurred at 1:16 AM AST. 

The earthquake has been reported as a 4.8 magnitude approximately
14 miles southwest of Mona Island in the Mona Channel with a depth
of 8 miles. The Puerto Rico Seismic network said it was felt as a
magnitude 3 in Mayaguez. Other public reports note that it was
felt as far away as Toa Baja and Bayamon. No damage has been 
reported. This statement will be updated when more information is
received.

Given the reported intensity of the earthquake it is believed there is no
tsunami threat for Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands.
