...Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of southeastern Laurens,
south central Spartanburg and southeastern Greenwood Counties through
1100 AM EDT...

At 1044 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 9 miles northeast of Laurens to 13 miles north
of Evans. Movement was southeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Clinton, Ninety Six, Joanna, Cross Hill, Lake Greenwood State Park,
Lake Greenwood, Greenwood State Park, Ninety Six Historic Site,
Mountville and Kirksey.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Conditions are favorable for development of a very brief, weak
tornado. Be prepared to take immediate action if a tornado is sighted
or a Tornado Warning is issued.
