Cured fine fuels and relative humidity ranging from 15 to 25
percent will happen again today over portions of north central
South Dakota. Prior to a cold front's passage this afternoon into
this evening, south to southwest winds are expected to gust up to
20 to 25 mph. All these factors combined will create near critical
fire weather conditions this afternoon. The grassland fire danger
index will respond by climbing up into the high to very high fire
danger category.
