The National Weather Service in Omaha has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Central Harrison County in southwestern Iowa...
  Northern Shelby County in southwestern Iowa...

* Until 800 PM CDT.

* At 623 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from 2 miles northwest of Modale to 3 miles northeast of
  Missouri Valley to 6 miles northwest of Neola, moving northeast at
  30 mph.

  THESE ARE DESTRUCTIVE STORMS FOR MODALE, MAGNOLIA, WOODBINE, 
LOGAN, DUNLAP, PANAMA, EARLING, DEFIANCE, AND OTHER NEARBY AREAS.

  HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Emergency management. These storms have produced 
           widespread wind damage to trees, powerlines, structures, 
           and vehicles.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
           shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect 
           considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles. 
           Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.

* Locations impacted include...
  Logan, Woodbine, Dunlap, Earling, Irwin, Defiance, Modale, Panama,
  Magnolia, Portsmouth, Westphalia, Kirkman, Willow Lake Recreation
  Area, Manteno Recreation Area, and Schaben Park.

This includes Interstate 29 between mile markers 82 and 84.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. These storms have produced 
widespread wind damage across portions of Douglas and Washington 
Counties. SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy structure and stay away 
from windows!

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
