* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Northwestern York County in Upstate South Carolina...
  Northeastern Cherokee County in Upstate South Carolina...

* Until 515 PM EDT.

* At 430 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Gaffney,
  moving east at 20 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind 
           damage to trees and power lines.

* Locations impacted include...
  Gaffney, Blacksburg, Smyrna, Kings Mountain State Park, Cherokee
  Falls, Draytonville, Kings Creek, Bethany, and Hickory Grove.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
